TAKING THE QUATRAIN TO BAKER STREET by John McDonnel
We're taking the quatrain to Baker Street,
A place that's storied in prose.
Clickety clack, we're getting the beat,
We've practiced and now, well, here goes!
Our music is opus 221.
It's always played in B flat.
"Cut the poetry, Watson" 's no fun.
Quatrains are where the fun's at!
We'll mix in some sonnets and limericks witty.
The ghost of Mrs. Hudson won't mind.
She'd rather hear jovial beats through the city
Than blasts of the wall-pocking kind!
